Kruisheer Eddy Putranto (1969-2022)

He attended Kanisius Elementary and Junior High School in Wates. He continued his study in Mertoyudan Minor Seminary in Magelang, central Java and then entered the Crosier novitiate in 1989.

He made his first profession of vows on August 28, 1991, in Pratista, Bandung and professed solemn vows on August 28, 1994, in Pratista. He received his priesthood ordination on June 24, 1998. Two years later, he went to Chicago, USA, for advanced studies at CTU (Catholic Theological Union) until completing his doctorate program in 2007.

Returning to Bandung, he became member of the Scholasticate community in Sultan Agung, Bandung (2007) and then moved to the bishop’s house (2008) as the diocese secretary until his death. Many of his main assignments and ministries centered around the area of education both for Crosier Religious Life and the diocese of Bandung. He was the students pastor in the diocese of Bandung. He was a teacher and head of the theological program in the Philosophy – Theology department of Parahyangan Catholic University in Bandung. He was the vice provincial from 2016-2022. He also worked a lot to support the liturgy development in the Sang Kristus province. He served as well on the council of Bandung diocese and its clerics (2009-2002).
